Connection, Support, and Shared Growth

At Wayfare Counseling, we believe in the power of shared experiences and collective support. Our group therapy sessions offer a unique opportunity to connect with others facing similar challenges, learn from diverse perspectives, and develop practical skills for nervous system regulation tailored to each group’s specific context.

Each group is led by experienced therapists trained in nervous system regulation. We create a safe, confidential, and supportive environment that allows participants to explore, learn, and practice regulation skills relevant to their specific challenges. Our evidence-based techniques are tailored to the needs of each group, fostering open dialogue, skill-building, and mutual support.

Nurturing Resiliency: An 8-Week Workshop for Parents of Children Under 12

Are you noticing big feelings or baffling behaviors in your child—and wondering how to help?

Nurturing Resiliency is an 8-week psychoeducational and experiential workshop designed for parents of children under 12 who want to better understand and support their child’s emotional regulation, as well as their own.

Grounded in nervous system science, attachment theory, and somatic practices, this workshop offers practical tools for calming, connecting, and co-regulating with your child—especially in the moments that feel most overwhelming. Each week combines teaching, experiential exercises, and space to process your own parenting journey in a supportive environment.

In this group, you’ll learn to:

  • Understand your child’s brain states (Owl, Watchdog, Possum)
  • Identify when your child is stuck in fight, flight, or freeze
  • Practice body-based tools to regulate your own nervous system
  • Teach emotional regulation through connection and play
  • Create a calming home environment with structure and safety

Whether your child struggles with anxiety, shutdowns, tantrums, or simply big emotions, Nurturing Resiliency will equip you with tools and insight to respond with clarity and compassion.
