Our Logo
Our logo feels incredibly representative of the work that we do, so we wanted to have a space on the website to explain how so. You will notice that the logo is a script-like version of an infinity symbol. The infinity symbol in trauma treatment is used to represent a concept called “pendulation”. Pendulation is the natural rhythm or movement between contrasting states, such as tension and relaxation, trauma and resource, or the hard and the good. This belief is core to how we approach working with clients.
We are convinced that the difficult things clients come into our offices to work through cannot be processed effectively without also resourcing them with supportive elements inside and outside of session. Once we have those resources in place, we will return to them often in this rhythmic dance between their trauma work and their support. It’s this pendulation that provides the expansion in that client’s capacity, and, therefore, a reduction in symptoms and an increase in well-being.
